Are you new here?
We know that attending a new church for the first time can be intimidating. Our hope is that this page will give you a glimpse of what to expect and that you will feel welcomed to come and join us in worship.
Worship
As a church, we are committed to worshiping God with reverence and exuberance. Each service is meaningfully prepared to invite the congregation into a dialog with God and his Word that informs our living throughout the rest of the week. In the service, we recognize our brokenness, celebrate God's goodness and dig into what it means to live as the body of Christ in the world. A mix of both historical and contemporary worship practices throughout the service help us to connect the stories of our lives to the larger picture of God's story and his mission in the world.
Street parking is available on any of the streets surrounding the church. A few spots will be left open for visitors directly in front of the church.
Not sure what to wear? Come as you are. From jeans to ties, you'll find it all at First.

Families with children
At First Church, we value worshiping together as an inter-generational body. For this reason, children older than Kindergarten age remain in the sanctuary for the worship service.
Children ages 3-Kindergarten are invited to attend a special worship service called Children In Worship which is designed for their comprehension and participation. Each Sunday before the sermon, they exchange a blessing with the congregation and then are dismissed to their worship center downstairs. The children will return accompanied by their teacher to the main service before the closing songs. For children ages 0-3, nursery is available downstairs.
The safety of your children matters to us. Those who work with children are screened and trained to ensure safety. Parents are welcome to join their children in the nursery or Children in Worship.
after service
After the worship service, we invite you to stick around for coffee and conversation in the back of the sanctuary or to join us in a class from 11:00 - noon. We alternate between inter-generational groups and age-specific Sunday School during that hour throughout the year.

During the week
There are many ways to be involved beyond the Sunday Service, including a number of groups that meet throughout the week. If you are looking for adult groups, ministries for children and youth or ways to serve, you can click on the connect or serve tabs for more information. For specific details, contact Director of Faith Formation, Bret Lamsma at bret@firstcrcdenver.org. You can also fill out a Connect Card, found in the pews, during the service to help us get in touch with you.
Do you have a gift you want to use?
Want to bless others and glorify God? The worship band here at First is a diverse group of musicians who blend their unique gifts together to lead others in worship on Sunday mornings. If you sing or play, whether accomplished or amateur your gifts have a place here.
Your gifts of visual artistic expression can be used here at First Church! We have a team that enhances the atmosphere of the worship space by incorporating corporate art projects, individual art pieces, banners, images, and more. There are also opportunities to participate in the worship services through dramatic arts such as scriptural presentations, liturgical skits and readings.
